Each week, the series Hier und Jetzt presents artists who live and work in Stuttgart. In talks, performances and discussions, the series aims to exhibit different approaches in various sections and disciplines to shape the scene of young artists in Stuttgart.

Anja Abele studied artistic education at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart until 2009 with Prof. Rainer Ganahl and intermedial design with Joachim Fleischer. Her analyses of public space and interventions into it are being transferred into performances, installations and videos. In 2008 Abele founded the Institute Orange, where the research focusses on site-specific motions in urban space. Temporal research facilities were establiched at Kunstraum Munich (with Forschungsgruppe_f), at the Künstlerhaus Vorwerkstift Hamburg, where she had a guest fellowship and at the Performancehotel Stuttgart (Projekt Distrikt Ost).
Michl Schmidt (*1973 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber) started with a traineeship as stone mason, which was followed by his studies at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürmberg, among others with Georg Winter. Since 2006 he has been working as a freelance sculptor and has a lectorship at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg. Among other exhibitions and projects, he showed Boxschock-schock die Box at Kunsträume Bayern, Kitzingen (2008), dummy yourself, XIII at the Carrara Biennale (2008), Rooming in at the Kunsthaus Katana, Nürnberg (2007) and Blühbungen at Lothringer 13, München (2005).
