With “Terra Alchimia – Landscape in the Making,” Freia Achenbach & June Fàbregas (anima ona) initiate and foster an atmosphere at the Künstlerhaus Stuttgart in which three states of what they call “earthbeing” come into interaction with one another. Anima ona integrate their ongoing research projects on the transmutation of soil and rock, vegetation in urban space, and the innovative use of agricultural by-products, into a common spatial narrative about material cycles, growth, and transience.
Out of alchemy-inspired material transformations, architectural fragments, and urban interventions, there emerge poetic and pragmatic visions of a differently built environment that comprises care, diversity, and ecological embedding as its constituent spatial qualities. The atmosphere unfolds as a process of growth: beginning on January 16, it will only gradually take its full shape by the vernissage on
14 February.
